Humans AND machines

Hi, my friend-

Last night, I hired someone to help me put a bed together that would have taken me hours but took him half the time. When I paid him, he left with a smile and a handshake. Two minutes later he showed back up and said I had overpaid him, handed me back the extra money and smiled saying it was too much. What a wonderful human moment on so many levels.

As a fellow human, I'm always looking for ways to be more efficient, productive, and successful.

AI might be the answer.

However, will it foster human-connected moments of emotional trust?

In 2014, I wrote the book "Human-to-Human" to emphasize the importance of meaningful connections between people in an ever-changing, technology-driven world. In an age where technology is advancing rapidly, it is more important than ever to lean into our humanity and not let AI replace our need for genuine human interaction.

In my book, I discussed how meaningful relationships with friends or family are essential for a fulfilling life. With the rise of AI, it can be easy to forget that human connections are still necessary and valuable. We must strive to balance embracing new technologies and maintaining our humanity by connecting with others on a deeper level.

That said, while AI can be used to generate content quickly, there is a risk of creating fake or inaccurate information. As AI technology continues to improve, this risk will only increase.

Look for brands like Levi’s, which replaced all their human models with AI models. I know we can debate the usage of humans vs. machines here. The difference isn’t that they are using technology; their transparency makes this work. That said, we are going to see less and less transparency. The brands that declare their AI usage will gain more respect than those that don’t. We can’t stop AI, but we can be more human.

AI will continue to be used as practical tools to augment human intelligence by providing insights from data analysis or responding to questions in natural language. In this way, AI can help us become more efficient.

In gratitude-
Bryan

Companies like Televerde are using new tech to deepen human relationships and make the human experience more meaningful in the future.

In our webinar today, we will answer these questions:

  • How can AI help companies increase sales and drive new revenue?
  • What can AI do to energize customer relationships and boost sales effectiveness?
  • At what point will customers defect if technology replaces human connections?
  • How do we infuse authentic human touchpoints that elevate every sale or customer service interaction to a higher value and faster?

I am thrilled to be answering all these questions and more in an intimate interview with Televerde and myself on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Join me and Managing Director Chris Mercer as we explore the powerful combination of AI and H2H in relationship-driven growth.

Hi friend Have you ever considered what would happen if you hit “pause” on everything—work, family, friends, your phone, even your voice? For 10 days, I did just that. I recently finished a Vipassana meditation course in Macedonia, a journey into silence and self-awareness, and what I experienced was nothing short of transformative. Don’t get me wrong—it was Mt. Everest-level hard to live like a monk for ten days. Before the retreat, my life was like a browser with too many tabs open—every...

Hi, my friend- If there’s one thing I’ve discovered while living in Europe, it’s that coffee is art and science. They take their coffee very seriously here in Portugal. Back in the States, I used to order my coffee tall, black, and with a splash of cream. Here in Europe, most people prefer a ‘café,’ a simple yet profound shot of espresso. I would gulp it down when I first arrived in Portugal, but now I savor every sip. Just a few doors down, I sat on one of the three stools at Tiago's café....

Hi, my friend- Eight months ago, Courtney and I moved to the city center of Lisbon, Portugal, a city rich in culture, food, and history. It's a very walkable, meandering city—small but expansive—and I have fallen in love with every inch of it. While I'll frequently return to the US, noticed one glaring thing... Everyone I have met here stays above the line. Within one block from our flat is Pedro, our grocer; Jaoio, my barber; Maria, our banker; Tiago, who owns a tiny coffee shop; Ana, who...
